Volunteer Opportunities

Deputy Stewards - All Areas
Assist steward with member communication, leafleting, opportunity to attend exectutive council meetings & contribute to discussion (but not vote)

Writers - Needed in July, October, January & March
Write articles for our award-winning quarterly publication Momentum.  Attend one newsletter committee meeting prior to the preparation of each issue to discuss the focus of the next issue and individual topics.

Shop Stewards - Needed in Most Areas
Steer the direction of the organization through shared decision-making on the executive council; assist members in your area with work-related problems (interviewing, counseling, 1st & 2nd step grievance handling), communicate with members. FULL TRAINING PROVIDED.

Mailing Workers - As Needed
Collate, fold & stuff envelopes.

Event Coordinators - As Needed
Serve on events committee to coordinate a variety of activities.  Needed are people who can brainstorm ideas for new events, designate themes, select a menu from local catering establishments, and assist with set-up and clean-up before/after event.
